John McClure has had an enormous influence on my career. Twice.

The first time was 34 years ago.  The distribution company I was working for was floundering. Two companies merged together and became a mess. The division was dysfunctional, employee morale was low, and we had become extremely unprofitable when John was finally called in to manage our division. John assessed the situation, started to fix the problem areas, and make each employee accountable to the overall success of the business.  With John at the helm, areas that were once underperforming were transformed into consistent achievers. John created a culture that included confidence and trust.  Every employee wanted to come to work. Every day became an adventure. 
 
This would have made a great ending to the story; however, I was able to have John work his magic again.  After many years in Sales and Sales Management, I was fortunate to purchase a distribution company. I quickly realized that I needed help in transition into the ownership role. I was fortunate to be able to reconnect with John and he has become my mentor. John is teaching me practical and necessary systems and processes that are making me a much better leader.  He doesn’t attempt to consult or change my direction; he does what John does best- listen and mentor.
